State Rep. Brian Ohler Achieves 100% Voting Record

HARTFORD – State Rep. Brian Ohler (R-64) who is serving his first year a state legislator for the towns of Canaan, Cornwall, Goshen, Kent, Norfolk, North Canaan, Salisbury, Sharon, and Torrington in the House of Representatives, earned a perfect one-hundred-percent voting record for all 417 roll call votes taken on the floor of the House during the 2017 regular and special sessions.

“I’m hopeful that my ability to obtain a 100% voting record during my Freshman year sends a sign of commitment and dedication to my constituency,” said Rep. Ohler. “Of the 417 votes that were cast, each on has a story behind it. So many of my constituents, from seniors, to teachers, to business owners, to first time voters all offered their insight and input regarding these votes. This achievement is a testament to their constant communication and advocacy. Being their voice is a great responsibility and they deserve nothing less than a 100% voting record.”

Notably, only about 30% of those serving in the House earned a one hundred percent voting record this year.

The next regular session of the legislature will convene in February 2018. Ohler currently serves on the Appropriations, Human Services, and Public Safety Committees.
