The National MS Society is coming to Westport's Sherwood Island State Park to host Traveler's Walk MS 2012 to raise money towards the reasearch for treatments and a cure for multiple sclerosis. Their website says the money raised in Connecticut will help in excess of 6,000 people living with multiple sclerosis with referrals to local MS resources, programs for the newly diagnosed, emergency financial assistance, care management, medical equipment loans, support groups, and much more.
The walk will take place this Sunday, April 22 at 10 a.m. with a check-in time of 9 a.m. It is free to register and donations are accepted. Those wishing to show up the day of the walk can enter and still participate without early registration but it is asked that you show up at 8 a.m.
To register and for more information on the Traveler's Walk MS 2012, visit the WALK MS WEBSITE.
