NORWALK, CT – Kids can meet – and learn from – Marvel Super Heroes® Spider-Man, Thor and Iron Man live and in person during two special “Operation Green” performances on Sat., Oct. 27 at The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk.
The crime-fighters’ action-packed and interactive shows will start at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on the new stage in the Aquarium’s recently renovated IMAX® Theater.
Spider-Man nemesis the Green Goblin also will be on-hand during the 45-minute shows, which will focus on the dangers of pollution and also various ways we all can help the environment.
“The ‘Operation Green’ shows help kids understand that they don’t need to conquer a villain to be a hero,” said Chris Loynd, the Aquarium’s marketing director. “They learn that they can be a hero for the environment just by making their family change simple habits around the house. And they can do it without being bitten by a radioactive spider or having an electromagnet installed in their chest.”
Tickets are $10 (and do not include Maritime Aquarium admission) or $9 for Aquarium members.
(Although the “Operation Green” shows will be held in the IMAX Theater, they do not include an IMAX movie presentation. There will be just one IMAX showing on Oct. 27: “Sea Rex: Journey to a Prehistoric World” at 4 p.m.)
Similar shows last year sold out, so advance reservations are strongly recommended. Get tickets or more details online at www.maritimeaquarium.org or call (203) 852-0700, ext. 2206.
