Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum Receives Major Support from the Xerox Foundation

 The Lockwood Mathews Mansion Museum has received a major grant of $20,000 from the Xerox Foundation in support of its educational and cultural programs. The Xerox Foundation's President Mark Conlin said, "As a Norwalk neighbor, we are proud and honored to lend our support to the Education Programs again in 2014. Xerox and the Lockwood-Mathews Mansion share a passion for culture and historic preservation. Local history is an important part of what makes our country special."

The Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum's 2014 season will feature a writing competition for students in Norwalk's public schools, exhibits, lectures, community events, and programs that will explore American history, art, and architecture in the mid-to-late 19th and early 20th centuries. LMMM Chairman of the Board Patsy Brescia said, "We are so proud to have the Xerox Foundation endorsing our programming at LMMM. It is only with this kind of support that the Museum is able to meet its mission of maintaining its cultural and educational programs."

Xerox has been a major supporter of the Museum's programs for the past five years and continues to be one its most philanthropic corporate donors. Executive Director Susan Gilgore said, "The Board of Trustees and I are profoundly grateful to the Xerox Foundation for its very generous support as this grant will allow us to enrich the lives of many residents, thousands of area school children, and families in Norwalk and throughout Fairfield County. As a local, national, and international symbol of excellence and corporate citizenship, Xerox' investment in this museum conveys a significant validation of its mission and programs."
