Norwalk Symphony Orchestra Receives CT Cultural Fund Operating Support Grant from CT Humanities

Norwalk Symphony Orchestra in Norwalk, was recently awarded a $14,600 CT Cultural Fund Operating Support Grant from CT Humanities (CTH). CT Cultural Fund Operating Support Grants assist organizations as they recover from the pandemic and maintain and grow their ability to serve their community and the public.

Funding from the CT Cultural Fund Grant will be used to support our strategic goals of creating access and awareness through increased visitation and audience attendance, hiring professional musicians for our concerts and improving fundraising and membership. New CRM tools will provide more efficient front and back-end capabilities and provide cohesive information on our patrons.

“Providing support that enables us to continue to present high quality performances with our professional musicians as well as develop creative strategies for access to programs for those in our community is vital to our ongoing viability. Support from The CT Cultural Fund provides the necessary ingredient for us to elevate all levels of our organization,” says Sandra Miklave, Executive Director.

The Symphony was one of 723 organizations in Connecticut receiving a CT Cultural Fund Operating Support Grant. Totaling more than $8.5M, these grants are part of a two-year, $30.7M investment in arts, humanities, and cultural nonprofits by the CT General Assembly and approved by Governor Ned Lamont.

This CT Cultural Fund Operating Support Grant is provided to the Norwalk Symphony from CT Humanities, with funding from the Connecticut State Department of Economic and Community Development/Connecticut Office of the Arts (COA) from the Connecticut State Legislature.
