Wegmans in Norwalk: Just 100 Hires Away from Opening Its Doors

The final countdown is on. With just 100 positions left to fill, the brand new Wegmans in Norwalk is nearing its much-anticipated opening—and the search is on for the right people to help bring the store to life.

From entry-level managers to full-time customer service representatives, stockers, shift leaders, and cashiers, there are a variety of roles still available for those eager to join one of the most respected names in the grocery industry. For the right candidates, Wegmans is prepared to offer jobs on the spot. And those who sign on will begin paid training immediately at the company’s Harrison, New York location.

Norwalk Store Manager Emily Gee puts it plainly: “We’re just a few months away from our grand opening, and with just 100 openings left, now is the perfect time to join our team.”

These positions aren’t just jobs—they’re career opportunities. Starting wages begin at $17 an hour with regular increases, and all hourly employees earn premium pay on Sundays and holidays. Entry-level management and shift leader positions are also eligible for a sign-on bonus.

Wegmans offers more than a paycheck. Employees benefit from flexible scheduling, industry-leading healthcare and life insurance, on-the-job training, a 401(k) retirement plan with company match, and a generous employee scholarship program open to both part- and full-time staff.

The company has earned its stellar reputation: ranked #6 on Fortune’s “100 Best Companies to Work For®” in 2025, Wegmans has made the list for 28 consecutive years. It’s also been named a Best Workplace for Parents, #1 on the list of Best Workplaces in Retail, and one of PEOPLE’s “Companies That Care.”

When Norwalk’s 92,000-square-foot Wegmans opens its doors, it will employ approximately 500 people—most hired locally. That means hundreds of neighbors, teammates, and future friends building something new together.
