Maritime Aquarium Takes the Pink Pledge to Support Breast Cancer Center

A 2017 Nissan Rogue Sport, wrapped in pink in support of the Norma Pfriem Breast Center, sits in front of The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk on Oct. 22. For a second year, the Aquarium is supporting the Center’s “Pink Pledge” program, a month-long awareness and fundraising campaign. Look for the pink, jellyfish-dotted Rogue this month at more than 50 schools all around Fairfield County during the schools’ “Pink Pledge” rallies and events.

Funds raised through “Pink Pledge” enable the Center to continue to provide medical excellence and compassionate care to all women, regardless of their ability to pay. The Rogue was donated by Paul Miller Nissan of Fairfield.

The Norma Pfriem Breast Center, part of Smilow Cancer Hospital, has been providing medical excellence, compassionate care and life-saving programs for 19 years with locations in Bridgeport, Fairfield and Trumbull. It was the first freestanding community breast center in Connecticut to offer one-stop coordination of care, patient navigation and rapid diagnosis. It is one of only 500 centers nationwide accredited by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers and is a member of the prestigious National Consortium of Breast Care Centers.
