Mitch Ancona, community and nonprofit supporter and owner of Ancona's Wines and Liquors, is at it again - spinning his wheels DK100 DIY-style for a cause near and dear to his heart - the Norwalk River Valley Trail (NRVT).
On September 12, rain or shine, Mitch will hop on the saddle and ride the 2 mile Wilton stretch of the NRVT until he completes 100 miles! Yes, you are correct in your thinking, this will take a while - all day in fact!
NRVT is a working project to create a bike and pedestrian trail that will extend from Norwalk to Danbury, Connecticut through Redding, Ridgefield, and Wilton.
How can you help? You can donate funds to support Mitch and NRVT. But wait, there's more - you can JOIN HIM! Why not? If you're not into biking, take a stroll on the trail and give Mitch a social distance wave or cheer!
The Norwalk River Valley Trail project aims to build 30 miles of trail connecting Calf Pasture Beach in Norwalk, Connecticut to Rogers Park in Danbury, passing through Wilton, Ridgefield, and Redding along the way. The NRVT is a working project and upon completion, it will be a 10 foot wide, handicap-accessible trail creating recreation opportunities for walkers, hikers, cyclists, kids and pets. The NRVT offers a healthy transportation alternative rail stations, schools, offices, and businesses.
