Open Call to Artists

The upcoming exhibit “Inspiration” is one of the Rowayton Arts Center’s largest and most popular shows. It is open to all artists.  Artists are free to work in any media and on any theme. Best in Show will be awarded a cash prize of $250. Dean Fisher, faculty member of the Silvermine Arts Center, will judge the art. Artists may submit two pieces and the drop off dates are: Tuesday, February 21 (4-7pm) and Wednesday, February 22 (11am-2pm). Opening reception is Sunday, February 26 (4-6pm). The reception isfree and open to the public.

Also on Sunday, February 26 (2-4pm) is an Art Demonstration with art instructor, Lenny Moscowitz. This is a free 2-hour demonstration with a focus on abstract art.

“Inspiration” exhibition chairs are Chris Perry and Sandy Mills. Artists from the exhibit will hold an Artists Talk on Wednesday, March 15 (6:30-8:00pm). Artists Talks are held at RAC and are wonderfully informative.

For almost 60 years, the Rowayton Arts Center has been a cultural gem in the community. It is an exceptional gallery where regional artists may exhibit and sell their art as well as a wonderful venue for art workshops and classes. The Art School offers classes to children and adults at all levels. The RAC Gallery and Art School are located on the bank of the scenic Five Mile River in Rowayton, CT at 145 Rowayton Avenue.
