Autumn Leaves: Music on the Hill Chamber Chorus

Music on the Hill presents a concert tuned to the changing seasons, performed by 12 pro singers with Ellen Dickinson, conductor, David H. Connell, pianist, and Carolyn Engle, cellist. The concert takes place Friday, November 17, at 8:00 p.m. at Wilton Presbyterian Church, 48 New Canaan Road, Wilton.

Featured is a new work by Canadian composer Sarah Quartel: "A Winter Day," in five movements for chorus, piano and solo cello. Each movement depicts a distinct time of day, beautifully differentiated through varied textures of vocal and instrumental sound, highlighted in this performance by the vibrant acoustics of the Wilton Presbyterian Church.

Other selections include "The Road Home" by Stephen Paulus and the e.e. cummings poem "i thank You God for most this amazing day" set to music by Elliot Z. Levine.

The singers are members of the Music on the Hill Chamber Chorus, a professional ensemble known for impeccable a cappella performance described as "positively transporting."

Tickets for "Autumn Leaves" are $25 at the door, $20 in advance; students are free. Order online at musiconthehillCT.org or phone 203-529-3133.
