Silent Movie Night March 24, 2018 - Film Festival Part II featuring 4 Laurel & Hardy silent films accompanied by John Mucci live on piano.
The power of black and white silent films derives partly from nostalgia and partly from the poetic dreamlike quality of silent era films. That forty-year focus on visual storytelling inspired directors such as Hitchcock and Spielberg who have made films that seem to work even with the sound muted.
Our cinematic evening is hosted by the leadership team of the Cannon Grange, and graciously enhanced by John Mucci’s seasoned hands on the piano. Join us in experiencing the art and craft of movie making, and question whether our picks of four Laurel and Hardy silent films do justice to an era that pioneered the best aspects of modern cinema.
