Lag B’Omer Celebration in Westport May 3

The Mishkan Israel Day Camp plans to celebrate the Jewish holiday of Lag B’Omer with a parade and outing May 3 (Thursday) on the town Green in Westport, starting at 5 p.m.

Free picnic and entertainment and prizes for young people are part of the activities.

Lag B’Omer celebrates Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai who lived in the second century and was the first teacher of the Kabbalah. Mishkan Israel, based in Trumbull, has been sponsoring the celebration in Connecticut since 1989.
