Fairfield County Choral's September Sing

Sing about prophets and priests, monks and widows, queens, and an angel — all in an afternoon! Throw in some medieval drinking songs, a bit of actual drinking, and even some musical insights. The Fairfield County Chorale’s “September Sing” offers all of this on Saturday, September 8th at 4pm, at Trinity Episcopal Church in Southport.

Take part in a fun, relaxed read-through of selections from two opposite poles of the choral repertoire: Mendelssohn’s oratorio Elijah and Orff’s raucous Carmina Burana. FCC music director David Rosenmeyer will share his interpretation of each of these pieces as he leads the singers in an afternoon of musicmaking.

Stay after the sing to enjoy hors d’oeuvres and beer. Chat with chorale members, meet the music director, and learn more about the FCC’s upcoming concert season. Interested in singing with the FCC this season? The event is the perfect opportunity to get your feet wet, and even schedule an audition.

$10 donation includes music rental. Attendees are also welcome to bring their own scores.
