Maritime Aquarium offers a free 4D movie to area educators May 7-9 to mark Teacher Appreciation Week

To acknowledge the exceptional work of teachers during these exceptional times, The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk is offering area educators a free movie in its new 4D theater during the weekend of May 7-9 to mark national “Teacher Appreciation Week.”

“More than in any year, educators deserve recognition for how they have adapted to teaching during the pandemic,” said Tom Naiman, the Aquarium’s vice president of Education. “As their educational partner, we are pleased to offer a special treat to show that we admire and appreciate all that they are doing for students and families."

Now through Sun., May 9, with a current school ID presented at the Aquarium box office, educators will receive a free ticket to a 4D movie. Choose between BBC Earth’s “Shark: A 4D Experience,” which puts audiences face to face with some of the world’s most strange and mysterious shark species, and “Ice Age: No Time for Nuts 4D,” which follows the nut-crazed saber-toothed squirrel as he time-travels in his zaniest adventure yet.

Movies show in alternate titles about every 20 minutes.

Tickets normally are $7. Aquarium admission is not required. The offer is not available for online reservations.

Educators with a current school ID also can receive a free ice cream at the Sound Bites Café, adjacent to the theater.
