Norwalk Health Department Holds Two Community Flu Clinics

(NORWALK, Connecticut) – With flu season fast approaching, the Norwalk Health Department is encouraging all residents to get their annual flu shot. The flu shot is the best way to help reduce flu illnesses, doctor visits, and hospitalizations caused by the influenza virus.
The Norwalk Health Department will be holding two community flu clinics this fall.

Thursday, October 20
Norwalk Senior Center, 11 Allen Road
10 AM – 12 PM

Thursday, November 3
Brien McMahon High School, 300 Highland Avenue
5 PM – 7 PM

Appointments are required for both clinics. To make an appointment, visit www.norwalkct.org/flu or call our Vaccine Assistance Line at 203-854-7985.

Each clinic will provide the standard, recombinant, and high-dose flu vaccine. The standard flu vaccine will be available for anyone 3 years of age and above. The recombinant (Flublok) vaccine will be available for anyone 50 years of age and above, and the high-dose flu vaccine will be available for anyone 65 years of age and above.

Individuals can receive their flu shot for free with most insurances. Please bring all your insurance cards with you to the flu clinic. Otherwise, standard flu shots cost $25.00, and recombinant and high-dose flu shots cost $50.00. No one will be turned away because they are unable to pay.

Can’t make it to the community clinics? The Norwalk Health Department will be holding smaller flu clinics each Tuesday, starting October 25th, at the Norwalk Health Department. Individuals 6 months of age and above can make an appointment online at www.norwalkct.org/flu or by calling our Vaccine Assistance Line at 203-854-7985.
