“Lend Me A Tenor” at Music Theatre of Connecticut, Norwalk

It’s opening night for this hilarious Tony Award-winning play by Ken Ludwig. The show was a sensation on Broadway and in London's West End. It’s a madcap, screwball comedy that leaves audiences teary-eyed with laughter. The show runs three weekends through November 20th.

Fall Gala with Bernadette Peters! at The Ridgefield Playhouse, Ridgefield

You are cordially invited to a gala with the Winner of three Tony Awards, a Golden Globe, three Emmy and four Grammy Award nominations and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Bernadette Peters! Best known for her work on stage and as one of Broadway’s most critically acclaimed performers, Peters recently starred on Broadway as Dolly Gallagher Levi in the hit musical, Hello, Dolly!. Prior to that, she starred in A New York Love Affair featuring the music of Stephen Sondheim and orchestrations by Wynton Marsalis and on Broadway, in Stephen Sondheim’s A Little Night Music and Follies. 

Weekend Workshops – Preparing for Winter at Wilton Historical Society, Wilton

Experience an Autumn day in the life of Colonial Americans. Make your own colorful dried fruit necklaces, listen to stories of winter in New England told by Museum Educator Catherine Lipper, and enjoy a snack of home-made preserves on hearth-baked bread with the Historical Society.

UNIQUE Series for Special Learners at Concordia Conservatory, Stamford

Saturday, November 5, 1:30 pm

Join Orchestra Lumos for The UNIQUE, an interactive, 30-minute concert experience created specifically for learners with special needs and their families. Featuring music from Suite Italienne by Igor Stravinsky, the concert is performed by violinist Elizabeth Lim-Dutton of Orchestra Lumos and Conservatory faculty pianist Marijia Ilic, and is written and hosted by Rami Vamos with dancer Ella Grace Worraker. Rami will engage audiences with elements of music therapy and family friendly humor, while making classical music accessible to the students.  Elementary School students at 1:30 pm and Middle & High School students at 2:30 pm.

Grab the whole family and enjoy music that has been hailed by NPR as “the gold standard in kids’ music.” This nationally heralded, award-winning duo will share an afternoon of singing, laughter, movement, and dancing in a sensory-friendly, welcoming atmosphere! A portion of this concert's proceeds are dedicated to fighting food insecurity, through the Connecticut Food Bank.

“So Good – The Neil Diamond Experience.” at Downtown Cabaret Theatre, Bridgeport

Robert Neary creates a one-of-a-kind production with Neil Diamond’s greatest hits such as “I’m a Believer”, “Solitary Man”, “Coming to America”, “Sweet Caroline” and so many more. As a Broadway, television, and motion picture actor for over 35 years, Neary talks about the songs and tells the stories behind them from Neil Diamond’s interviews, quotes, and autobiographical books. 

Norwalk Symphony Presents Mahler’s Symphony No. 5 at Norwalk City Hall

Saturday, November 5, 7:30pm

From its opening trumpet fanfare through all five movements, including the hauntingly beautiful Adagietto (played at Robert Kennedy’s funeral in 1968), this bold and dynamic symphony speaks of love, energy, and determination.  Come experience the full force of the orchestra in this emotionally engrossing and ultimately victorious masterpiece. A pre-concert talk with conductor Jonathan Yates begins at 7:00 pm.

Anthony Rodia: Road Rage Tour at The Palace Theatre, Stamford

A first-generation Italian-American born and raised in Westchester, New York, Anthony Rodia came out of the womb making people laugh. In 2019, Rodia returned to comedy and left his day job to become a full-time stand-up comic. He hit the ground running and performed 100 shows in just nine months, and within three years Anthony has gained a massive fan base online and around the country.

Dream Collider: An Electroacoustic Viola Experience at Wilton Library, Wilton

Sunday, November 6, 4:00 pm 

Cultural Alliance member Nick Revel is a violist, improviser, composer, and educator who grew up in Wilton. He evolves the art of layering and sound design in his new collection "Dream Collider," on Sapphire Records. This dreamy collision of Revel's musical influences leans heavily on both pop-inspired electronic, and ambient-style film music, pulling the viola into an updated sound world that is relevant and relatable to modern audiences. Registration required.
