The Cross Sound Ferry has a been the preferred mode of transportation between Connecticut and Long Island since its induction.
While it remains the best and easiest way to travel between the two shorelines, the ferry also offers tours for guests wanting to see the sights on the Sound.
Beginning Memorial Day this season through late October, two tours will commence. The Classic Tour is newly expanded for 2017, and you’ll get an up close glance at the mysterious Plum Island Lighthouse, along with eight other notable lighthouse sightings along the 2 hour tour.
For an even more curious spotting, pick my personal favorite tour, the Mainland & Fishers Island Lights & Sights to see the stunning Ocean House hotel in Westerly, Rhode Island, and maybe even catch a glimpse of their famous neighbor, Taylor Swift.
All cruises depart at 12:30 p.m. from the Cross Sound Ferry in New London. Tickets for the tours can be purchased online, or by calling (860) 444-4620. Reservations are strongly encouraged.
So, we may be in the dead of winter, but it’s a great time to start thinking about your fabulous summer plans.
