Do Artists Still Live and Work in Westport?

People know Westport has a rich artistic heritage. But do artists still live and work in town? Yes, they do! says the Westport Artists’ Collective, a group of 150 local artists affiliated with the Westport Arts Center. The Collective is planning a new family-friendly event this spring, an Open Art Studio Tour.

The event on May 5 will include a Welcome Brunch at the Westport Arts Center and access to 13 open art studios for you to visit. The studios are as different as the artists and the work they create, and questions are encouraged. What inspires artists and keeps them disciplined at their craft? Discover art and ideas that speak to you, and maybe even inspire you to make your own creative space. Tickets for the day are $25 regular admission/$15 for designers and students, and free for those under 16, and sales will benefit The Artists’ Collective and The Westport Arts Center’s Community Partner and Outreach Programs, connecting people through the arts and nurturing the creative human spirit in our surrounding communities. Visit westportartistscollective.com or email collectivestudiotours@gmail.com for more information and to purchase tickets.

Plus: Get a Sneak Peek at all the fun with a Preview Party open to all at Design Within Reach on Friday, May 4, 6-8 pm, featuring creative cocktails, live music, and a pop up art exhibit with works from our open studio artists.
