Evarito’s Mexican Kitchen & Bar Arrives in South Norwalk

A new modern Mexican restaurant has opened on North Main Street in South Norwalk, bringing to life a bold spin on the kitchens of Mexico and the Southwest United States.

Evarito’s Mexican Kitchen and Bar, operated by local restaurateur Christian Burns with the support of Stamford-based Patriot Bank, opened its doors July 28. Evarito’s features an outdoor patio, open kitchen, grand tequila bar and will soon have a rooftop bar with views of the Long Island Sound.

The menu at Evarito’s is fresh, simple and authentic. Its seasonal menu is creative and served with care in an environment that is visually rich. The theatre of the open kitchen, fire lit dining and the energy of the bar make for a great experience.

“We are very excited to be in South Norwalk and be a part of the continued development of SoNo as a regional nightlife destination, with new apartment buildings, restaurants, and entertainment venues creating a scene often described as the ‘SoNo Renaissance,’” said Burns, whose SKAL Restaurant Group also operates The Ginger Man in Greenwich and three Cask Republic restaurants in New Haven, Stamford, and South Norwalk.

“With all the new businesses opening in the area, we wanted to share in the creative energy of the neighborhood and provide guests with an opportunity to enjoy a uniquely modern version of Mexican classics. Once we started thinking about the project, we approached our longtime banking partner who continues to invest in our successful restaurant model and our local community – Patriot Bank.”

“South Norwalk has all the resources for continued development as a destination, with excellent access to transportation, a variety of local shops and restaurants, and a vibrant, diverse community,” said Jennifer Cutrali, a Patriot Bank Vice President and Director of Portfolio Management.

“Based on our long-term relationship with this dynamic and talented restaurant group we are confident that Evarito’s will quickly become a central part of the growth, popularity, and cultural renaissance that is South Norwalk – and a destination in itself. Christian Burns and SKAL Restaurant Group have an extensive track record in the Southern Connecticut restaurant scene and Patriot Bank is proud to join them in this endeavor and for many years support them in the other regional markets where they are a brand that stands for quality and value.”
