Rowayton Arts Center Offers New Adult Class “Intro to Painting” Starting May 6

The Rowayton Arts Center (RAC) is offering a new adult class, “Intro to Painting,” on Mondays from 6:30 to 8:30 pm, beginning May 6, 2019. This class has been designed for the student interested in painting, but not quite sure where or how to begin.  The class will cover everything from palette set up and basic supply needs to the principles of color mixing, value studies, paint handling and composition.  Emphasis will be placed on learning to “see” color and form objectively and how to render them in paint.  Students will be working from still life and photographs.  This class is perfect for the beginner or someone looking to gingerly make their way back to painting.

Fee for the seven-session class is $225. The instructor, Denise Minnerly, has worked with students of all ages for over 25 years through her own school and as an art teacher at Greens Farms Academy. Her paintings and installations are displayed by public corporations and art venues throughout the Northeast. Please note there is a supply list for the class posted online. Visit rowaytonarts.org/education or call 203-866-2744 (x-2) for more information.
