Creativity Connects Norwalk: Meet Daniela Gongora, Musician, Small Business Owner, Local Creative

Creativity Connects Norwalk

What fuels a vibrant, connected and creative community? What makes people feel good about living in Norwalk?

When locals share the creativity that they uncover in the nooks and crannies of their community it brings about connectivity and makes us all feel good.

Believe it or not, you discover creativity every day as you walk, shop, work, and play in Norwalk.

Creativity connects us.

Meet Daniela Gongora, musician and director of Daniela Gongora Music Academy, board member of Seabury Academy of Music and the Arts.

Is there an organization in town that makes you feel good?

SCORE Mentors in Fairfield County was such a helpful organization when I started out five years ago as a small business owner. It is great to know that there are people in the community willing to share their experiences and mentor the younger generation. The organization offers resources and tools created especially for women entrepreneurs.

Where do you go for inspiration and creativity?

I enjoy the nearby scenery at Cranbury Park. It is very peaceful. In addition, the beach at Calf Pasture has beautiful sunsets. These historic and local landmarks help to calm the mind after a very busy work week.

What do you love about your community?

I love the diversity in my community; from the restaurants in Norwalk and Sono boasting their cultural cuisines, to festivals, the City is constantly celebrating diverse cultures through music, dance and art.

Check out the Norwalk Fence Art Project, it celebrates three centuries of history and showcases the people, places and events that created Norwalk’s central downtown. The sites that this exhibit highlights are: City Hall, Mill Hill, Freese Park and the Norwalk Public Library.
