Unveiling of Cesar Ramirez Drive on Monday Honors Longtime Norwalk Police Officer

Norwalk Police announced the unveiling of "Cesar Ramirez Drive" will take place on Monday, November 1st at 2:00 PM (Chestnut Street at Monroe Street).

"We will be joining the Ramirez family, members of Columbus Magnet School, and the Side-by-Side community," police say.

According to police, late Officer Ramirez served as a Norwalk police officer for 32 years and battled glioblastoma an aggressive form of brain cancer during his several months of life and service.

Officer Ramirez was well known in South Norwalk, particularly in the Chestnut Street area, and could often be seen monitoring school traffic in the mornings.

Officer Ramirez passed away on January 21, 2020, at the age of 71 years old.
