Norwalk Police Sergeant Gregg Scully Retires After 22 Year of Dedicated Service

After proudly and faithfully serving the Norwalk Police Department for 22 years, Sergeant Gregg Scully retired from a successful career on December 10, 2021.

On April 29, 1999, Sergeant Scully became a sworn member of the Norwalk Police Department. He served in the Patrol Division, K-9 Unit, Marine Division, and was the Commander of the Scuba Unit who was an integral part of the team.

Sergeant Scully was appointed as Harbormaster in 2017 where he worked with all boaters in the community and different agencies including the Coast Guard and Harbor Commission. He was a member of the original Norwalk Police Pipe Band and participated in several events throughout the area. 

Sergeant Scully was recognized during his career with a Meritorious Commendation Certificate, Distinguished Service Award for rescuing two boaters on Betts Island during Tropical Storm Irene, Letter of Commendation and Officer of the month on several occasions for his excellent police work. He received numerous letters from the citizens of Norwalk for his professionalism and dedication during his career.

We are very sad to see Gregg leave but we are very grateful for his loyal service which helped to make our department and the City of Norwalk a better place for us all. Please join us in wishing him the best in his retirement.
