Mercury Marketing Communications Promotes, Adds Staff

Mercury Marketing Communications, Inc., a boutique marketing and public relations agency based in Stamford, is pleased to announce changes to its professional staff. 

On its public relations team, the agency promoted Thomas Renner to Senior Account Executive and added Katherine Bonamo as an Assistant Account Executive. Both will work on Mercury’s lineup of business-to-business and non-profit clients.

Mercury is also pleased to announce the promotion of Christine Busardo to Account Executive. Busardo manages print, digital media, and social media services for the agency. 

Renner moved into public relations after an award-winning career in local journalism, including his role as Sports Editor for The Stamford Advocate. His work on behalf of his public relations clients have won multiple awards in state and national competitions, including two national awards from the National Federation of Press Women in 2022. A native of Pennsylvania, Renner graduated from Temple University with a Bachelor of Arts degree.

Busardo’s promotion to Account Executive reflects her ability to thrive in challenging circumstances. Having begun her agency career mid-pandemic, it was not long before she needed to step into the role of a more seasoned staffer taking maternity leave. Busardo holds an Associate of Arts degree in communications from Norwalk Community College and has pursued further studies in English at Western Connecticut State University. 

Bonamo, the newest member of Mercury’s public relations staff, is a former account executive with The BASES Group (now a division of Nielsen). She graduated from Yale University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in French. A resident of Stamford, she also holds master’s degrees in linguistics from Brown University and in library and information science from Simmons University.
