Norwalk Health Department Highlights New Community Testing Resources Available for Residents

(NORWALK, Connecticut) – The Connecticut Department of Public Health announced yesterday that they are shifting their COVID-19 testing and treatment resources, resulting in testing changes here in the City of Norwalk. Today, Thursday, December 29th, will be the last day of community testing at the Lockwood-Mathews Mansion site in Norwalk.

Beginning in January 2023, the CT Department of Public Health will support no-cost COVID-19 testing at four federally qualified health centers, which aligns with their efforts to offer testing services at locations where treatment for COVID-19 is available.

The two locations closest to Norwalk include:

• Family Centers Health Care, 111 Wilbur Peck Court, Greenwich, CT
• Southwest Community Health Center, 1020 Fairfield Ave., Bridgeport, CT

In addition to the listed federally qualified health centers, Norwalk residents can access resources for COVID-19 testing using the following options:

• National COVID-19 Tests: Starting December 15th, 2022, all U.S. households are eligible to receive another four free at-home tests through the Federal Government at https://www.covid.gov/tests
• Test to Treat: Connecticut currently has 40 Test to Treat sites located across the state which provides testing and treatments for COVID-19 from a health care provider, all in one location.

Anyone who may have difficulty accessing the internet or needs additional support locating a Test to Treat location site can call 1-800-232-0233 (TTY 1-888-720-7489) to get help in English, Spanish, and more than 150 other languages – 8:00 AM to midnight ET, seven days a week.
