Why Small Businesses Matter
Shop small, do big things for your community
Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!
You're IT Thomas French, DC, Chiropractor!
Three questions with Thomas French.
Why did you start your business?
I originally started college as a music major, but soon discovered that I didn't have much of a knack for a career in music, so I started thinking about what I would like to do with my life. I was always drawn to science, and it came easily to me in school, so I focused my energy there, and decided to go into health care. I like the idea of chiropractic since it was hands on, and I knew many people who had been helped dramatically by their chiropractor. I picked Norwalk, CT to start my business 17 years ago, and have enjoyed helping my patients feel better since then.
How many people do you employ?
I have a small office, and we try to keep it simple, so I have two receptionists to help schedule patients and help with insurance. Jennifer and Lynita are two local moms, and without them, I don't know where I would be!
How many local businesses do you use to support your business (products and services) and can you name them?
We try to use as many local businesses as possible. We get all our printing done at The Total Printing Center in Norwalk. Paper shredding has been handled by Affordable Solutions in Orange, CT. Also, we just moved to our new location at 148 East Avenue and got our phones set up with no problems by Stratatech Group in Norwalk, CT.
