Why Small Businesses Matter

Shop small, do big things for your community

Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!

You're IT Antojos!

Three questions with Nathalia Gonzalez, owner of Antojos.

Why did you start your business?

We started our business because we saw the need for good Colombian comfort food in Norwalk. The only option for Columbian food was a food truck that came to Norwalk from Bridgeport once a week. Other than this, one would have to travel to Queens to enjoy a good Colombian burger or hot dog. We offer handcrafted, high quality, creative Colombian Arepas with an endless variety of fresh toppings and Colombian cuisine inspired flavors.

Finish this sentence in regard to your business: I wish I could...

I wish I could be more active on Social media and be able to reach more customers.

Best selling product or service?

Our best selling product is our delicious fresh (never frozen) empanadas. They are so fresh that we have to continuously make batches of them throughout the day. This guarantees they are always fresh! They have been a huge hit! We use a Colombian small business located in Stamford “La Finquita” to get all of our Colombian products. We get our ice cream from Mr. Frostys.

Antojos tags Mr. Frosty's ice cream.

Antojos is located at 115 New Canaan Ave, Norwalk. Visit them online here or call (203) 857-1888.
