Why Small Businesses Matter

Shop small, do big things for your community

Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!

You're IT il Posto!

Three questions with Rebecca, Manager of il Posto.

Best selling product or service?

Our best selling products - our food! We are an Italian restaurant many of our ingredients are imported from Italy. Pizza flour Caputo and farro wheat pasta are some of our customer favorites. Chicken and Pork chop Scarpello is excellent as well. The Gelato is made by our neighbor residence of New Canaan, Gelatisimo.

Do you employ any local students or seniors?

All of our staff except the owners who work every day are from Norwalk or live in Norwalk.  Everyone is dedicated and hardworking.  I would love to hire students from the area for the summer to give them opportunities.

Do you use any local businesses to run your business?

Yes! We use as many as possible.  I believe in helping the neighborhood. We use Pagano's for our seafood and Bobby Bloom clams for our clams.  We rely on WB Mason for most of our disposables and, of course, liquor and food delivery from a variety of vendors.  We always support C-Town for any last minute shopping.
