Rowayton Arts Center Offers New Adult Watercolors Class Starting July 8

The Rowayton Arts Center (RAC) is offering a new adult class, “Wonders and Spontaneity of Watercolors,” on Mondays from 10am to 1 pm, beginning July 8, 2019. Explore the wonders and spontaneity of painting with water and the numerous ways it can be used for optimum effect.  The instructor, Judith Orseck Katz (known as Judy), will teach participants her techniques and the “secrets” she uses when painting with watercolors and gouache. This class is geared toward all levels of watercolor artists and others who are curious about the medium.

Judy is well known in the region for her gouaches and ceramic sculpture.  Her distinct style is a blend of Eastern tradition and Western abstraction.  She has taught at Parsons School of Design, Silvermine School of Art, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and in various schools around the country.

Fee for the seven-session class is $225. Please note there is a supply list for the class posted online. Visit rowaytonarts.org/classes or call 203-866-2744 (x-2) for more information.

RAC celebrates the study, creation and appreciation of the arts through classes, exhibitions and events open to all in the community. For almost 60 years, the RAC has been a cultural gem in the Norwalk community. It is an exceptional gallery where regional artists may exhibit and sell their art, as well as a wonderful venue for art workshops and classes. The Art School offers classes to children and adults at all levels. The RAC Gallery and Art School overlooks the scenic Five Mile River in Rowayton, CT at 145 Rowayton Avenue.
