Why Small Businesses Matter

Shop small, do big things for your community

Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!

You're IT Pop Record Research!

Three questions with Gary Theroux, owner of Pop Record Research.

Pop Record Research archives include nearly one million reference recordings from the 19th century to the present -- along with an enormous entertainment research library and more than 3,000 audio interviews with celebrities and newsmakers of every era.

Why did you start your business?

I started my businesses to provide entertainment-related research, writing, and production services for the radio, TV, Motion Picture, video and recording industries.

Finish this sentence in regard to your business. “I wish I could…”

I wish I was offered more opportunities to create, research, write and produce television programming, short films and videos as well as feature films and music albums.

What is your best selling product/service?

Right now, it is split between our ten-hour Yuletide Radio Countdown (The Greatest Christmas Hits of All Time) which can be heard in more than 175 countries, our award-winning syndicated radio series (The History of Rock N' Roll) and our feature films.
