Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum Receives $1,000 from Fairfield County Bank’s Charity of the Month

The Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum has received $1,000 from Fairfield County Bank as the recipient of their Charity of the Month program for the month of October 2020. Their generous donation will benefit the Museum’s educational and cultural programs.

LMMM Trustee Lynne Byington, Vice President, Fairfield County Bank said, “As an employee of Fairfield County Bank, I am proud of the continued support given to the non-profit community. Having the Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum included in October’s Charity of the Month program and win the award is extra special to me because I serve as a trustee for this historic landmark.”

Over the past three years, Fairfield County Bank has donated over $2.7 million to local non-profits. Creating the Charity of the Month program in 2019 was second nature and has found success throughout 2019 and now 2020.

“We are thrilled to be the recipients of Fairfield County Bank’s generous donation and grateful to all LMMM supporters who voted on behalf of the Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum,” said Chairman of the Board Patsy R. Brescia.

In 2019, the program received over 14,000 votes, cast through the Bank’s website, in-branch, and through the Bank’s Customer Care Center. Twenty-two charities from 2019 and 2020 have won, each receiving an extra $1,000 donation from the Bank, as the charities selected have received previous support from the Bank. 

In January of 2019, the Bank had a Charity of the Year vote, and all eleven winners were put back on the ballot for another chance to win a $1,000 donation. The Bank announced that Help Our Military Heroes was the winner for 2019 and will be doing the same in January of 2021 with the 2020 winners.
