Why Small Businesses Matter

Shop small, do big things for your community

Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!

You're IT Amanda Mas Tattoo!

Four questions with Amanda Mas, founder of Amanda Mas Tattoo.

Why did you start your business?

I started my business because it is my passion. I wanted a welcoming, private workplace for my clients to feel comfortable as this can be an intimate experience.

What is your best-selling product/service?

As far as “best selling service”, I would say each and every tattoo I do brings some sort of joy or comfort to my clients. Whether it be a memorial tattoo, marking a special moment, or just something for my client to look at that makes them happy.

How many local businesses do you use to support your business (products and services) and can you name them?

Westport Lifestyle Magazine has given me a press mention which I am grateful for as well as blogger Dan Woog, who has written an article about me. Both have really helped boost my clientele this past year. I have used local website designers and graphic artists for advertisement also.

Have you "reimagined" your small business?

I believe the private studio I have opened is not “it” for me. Because of Covid, I did not pursue my dream of opening a storefront. I have many ideas moving forward and when the time is right I hope to expand and reinvent the typical “tattoo shop”.
