Eco Evolution Opens on Washington Street SoNo

South Norwalk, CT: The second talented entrepreneur who won over  AGW SONO Partners during the local real estate collective’s first business pitch contest, introduced his awarded pop-up space with a soft opening this past weekend of Eco Evolution.

Eco Evolution is a concept and persona created by “Eco Dude” Brad Kerner whose mission is to present consumers with everyday products and practices to achieve a more sustainable lifestyle. Brad combines his obsession for recycling and background in organic farming with his years as a healthcare educator, humanitarian worker, and Peace Corps volunteer, and has created a retail and educational platform for consumers looking to “do better”. Eco Evolution, located at 135 Washington Street, features a multitude of eco-friendly home products, beauty and accessory items, local artisan goods, all-natural cleaners, artwork and décor, kids’ toys, and even pet supplies. Products from Brad’s large circle of like-minded and eco-centric makers and designers will also be featured, in addition to a revolving schedule of local musicians and artists joining in the evolution.

Friends of Eco Evolution include Kimono robes by Vernice Holmes, jewelry by Lauren Mollica, essential oils created by Sanasta Wellness, macrame wall hangings by Erika Burling from Knots on Euclid, Phandles (candles of music artists which play music when scanned with Spotify) by Chad Anderson, handmade soap crafted by Angellica Jonston, upcycled leather jewelry by Brooke Lalumiere, and woodblock prints by Jessica Hernandez, to name just a few.

“It is so exciting for me to open up Eco Evolution in Historic SONO, a coastal community that knows the importance of preserving our sound and the damage plastic waste has caused on our coastal wildlife, “says Brad, “Eco Evolution is proud to be a part of the solution to offer products and services that are good for people, good for the planet, and curated with purpose.  I am thankful to AGW and their marketing team, OnWashington, for giving me this opportunity to introduce a low-waste lifestyle to the community of Norwalk and supporting my mission!"

This past March, AGW’s OnWashington marketing team put the call out for entrepreneurs to present their business concept for a chance to win commercial real estate in SoNo where they can introduce their products and services to the public while having the opportunity to experience operating their business on Washington Street.  Over 30 business pitches were submitted.

“The process was challenging as the ideas and the talent were truly impressive,” says Linda Kavanagh, the Director of OnWashington, AGW’s marketing arm for the company’s 27-address portfolio on Washington Street, “The response from entrepreneurs and consumers has been wonderful. I can’t wait for everyone to meet the Eco Dude.”

On May 26, the first winner made their mark on Washington Street with the opening of Morlux Infusions, a vitamin and hydration studio owned and operated by registered nurse and Norwalk resident Carmen Morales, who is now administering IV infusion and injections that aid in health and wellness goals.
