Why Small Businesses Matter
Shop small, do big things for your community
Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!
You're IT, SoNo1420 Distillers!
Three questions with Ted Dumbauld, founder of SoNo1420 Distillers.
Why did you start your business?
We launched our business on 4.20.2019!
What is your best-selling product/service?
We provide an in-distillery experience for 100+ visitors weekly at our distillery located at 19 Day Street in South Norwalk.
We also sell our spirits - including our award-winning Double Gold Bourbon - at several local businesses including Match Restaurant, M&M Cigars, Banner Wines and Liquors, Red Hook Restaurant, and multiple BevMax stores.
During COVID, we produced and donated hundreds of gallons of hand sanitizer which we still manufacture and sell. We also start making a pure and smooth "Tito's Killer" vodka: In blind taste tests our Vo Vodka is chosen by 70-80% of the people who take the Tito's Challenge.
