Final weekend for free Maritime Aquarium admission through “CT Summer at the Museum" offer

Labor Day’s approach means there are only a few days left to enjoy free encounters with The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk’s sharks, seals and other amazing marine life through “CT Summer at the Museum - Free Admission for Kids.”

The Maritime Aquarium is among the 101 institutions participating in the state’s “CT Summer at the Museum" admission program, which offers free entry for all Connecticut residents 18 and under, along with one accompanying adult, from July 1 to Labor Day (Mon., Sept. 6).

“These are the final days of a rare opportunity for families to enjoy free or deeply discounted close encounters with 9-foot sharks, mesmerizing jellyfish, beloved sea turtles and other creatures of Long Island Sound and the ocean beyond,” said Aquarium spokesman Dave Sigworth. “For anyone who hasn’t visited the Aquarium in a while, they’ll especially be impressed with our enormous new harbor seal exhibit and the immersive film experiences in the new 4D Theater.”

The offer is open only to Connecticut residents. Through the admission deal, one adult with any number of kids = all free. Two kids with two adults = one paid adult admission ($28.95) while receiving three free tickets valued at $68.85.

Guests are strongly encouraged to make their reservations in advance online at www.maritimeaquarium.org. Proof of residency will be required at the door.

The program for free admissions was proposed by Gov. Lamont, and approved by the General Assembly, this spring as a way to allocate a portion of the federal COVID-19 recovery funding that Connecticut is receiving from the American Rescue Plan Act. Get all the details here

Based on recommendations and rules of the state of Connecticut and the city of Norwalk, all guests must wear masks while in the Aquarium, no matter their vaccination status.
