You're IT Best of Norwalk!

4 questions with Linda Kavanagh, Best of Norwalk Community Director.

Why did you start your business?

Best of Norwalk (formerly Norwalk Now 2017-2020) was created with the intent of supporting Norwalk small businesses. Its initial funding came from the Norwalk Parking Authority in an effort to put marketing dollars back into the community. During the early stages of the pandemic and upon internal restructuring within the city, Norwalk Now was acquired by a national company, Best of Ventures, LLC, whose business model is creating “Best of Local” mobile apps for cities throughout the country. Norwalk Now rebranded and the Best of Norwalk was created.

What is your best-selling product/service?

The Best of Norwalk mobile app is the first city to launch on behalf of the Best of Local brand. Best of Norwalk serves as a curated restaurant directory, city guide, resident and visitor resource, digital magazine, and marketing arm for Norwalk businesses. Professional, Home, and Lifestyle products and services have the opportunity to advertise their business on the mobile app, putting them in front of an audience that utilizes the Best of Norwalk mobile app and marketing platforms to seek out local businesses.

How many local businesses do you use to support your business (products and services) and can you name them?

The Best of Norwalk mobile app currently supports over 800 local businesses and has the ability to grow with the community.

Have you "reimagined" your small business?

Best of Norwalk as a small business support arm continues to evolve and the mobile app component has taken the brand to a whole new level. Being tech-forward while keeping our finger on the pulse of the city is instrumental in the growth of the business model. Upcoming cities to launch include Delray Beach, FL, Austin, TX, and locally, Greenwich, Fairfield, and Stamford. Our small business has the ability to create numerous small businesses one city at a time, utilizing the Best of Local mobile app technology.
