Why Small Businesses Matter

Shop small, do big things for your community

Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!

You're IT Sabor Ambateño Bakery!

Meet the owner of Sabor Ambateño Bakery, Byron Sanchez.

Why did you start your business?

When I was younger in my home country, I used to work at a bakery and loved selling the products to our customers, I love the customer service business. When I lived in Brooklyn, my wife and I used to bake bread at home and sell it at the park. People loved our bread! My wife and I decided to open a bakery with my brother-in-law. The rest is history! We've been in business for 11 years!

What is your bestselling product or service?

Our best-selling product would be our delicious bread and hot drinks, especially Morocho.
