Three questions with Joy-Ann Comiskey, co-owner of Organize And Design Solutions.
Why did you start your business?
The short answer is to help people. For over three decades, I developed a passion for process change management and transformation. I created systems and processes to streamline and make things easier while working in the corporate world. While I truly enjoyed my profession, I was yearning to use my transformation skills to create a business that would provide a service that would enrich people’s lives.
After retiring from the corporate world in January 2020, I was excited to focus on opening a Professional Organizer business. I joined forces with a longtime friend who is a skilled graphic designer. Together we created Organize and Design Solutions, which we launched in 2021. Our business takes pride in helping clients overcome their organizational challenges by giving them practical solutions that work for them. A few of our services include decluttering and purging, home organizing, move management, estate cleanouts/downsizing, and paper/file management. We will organize any room of a home and have already completed many successful full house organizing projects, basement cleanouts, and moves for clients. We even helped one of our clients create her own "dream closet".
We love helping our clients learn to live with only what they need and love!
What is your best-selling product/service?
Most of our clients hire us for general decluttering and organizing. Our clients generally know what they need to do to get organized but they get extremely overwhelmed trying to do it themselves. We also help a lot of our clients with move management; packing to leave a home, moving into a new home, downsizing, or getting their home ready for sale.
Have you “reimagined” your small business?
Because of the great relationships that we have built with our clients, we have created a new service to offer them. We are launching a monthly maintenance plan. This new service is a great solution to continuously assist our clients who are very busy and struggle with staying organized. We hope that offering them a monthly plan will help them stay on track with their home organization. Many busy families regularly utilize a cleaning service. Why not consider a monthly organizing day as well?
