Governor Lamont Launches ‘Rock the Shot’ Campaign Giving Those Who Are Vaccinated a Chance To Win Concert Tickets

Governor Ned Lamont today announced the launch of the State of Connecticut’s “Rock the Shot” promotional campaign to encourage Connecticut residents to get vaccinated against COVID-19 by giving away pairs of tickets to concerts happening throughout the summer and fall in the state.

“Rock the Shot” offers individuals two ways to win tickets:

  • Anyone 18 and older who has received at least one vaccine shot can enter an online drawing for a pair of premium seats to one of several concerts by some of today’s top artists in pop, country, and hip-hop. Drawings will be held weekly on Thursdays in July, starting on July 8. Winners will be contacted once their vaccination status is verified.
  • Be one of the first 24 people to get vaccinated at select clinics – to be announced – to receive a pair of tickets to one of the concerts.

To fill out an entry form for tickets, Connecticut residents who have been vaccinated should visit ct.gov/rocktheshot. The website also includes a list of available concerts, as well as the locations for the select clinics and which concert tickets will be available at those locations. More concerts will be added throughout the month, so people are encouraged to check the website regularly.

“Getting vaccinated is incredibly important to protecting your families, friends, neighbors, and communities as a whole, and we are launching this Rock the Shot campaign to stress – especially to the youngest adults in our state – just how important and safe getting vaccinated is,” Governor Lamont said. “I’m incredibly proud that Connecticut is among the most vaccinated states in the nation. Just this week we reached a new milestone, surpassing more than two million of our residents who are now fully vaccinated. We can’t stop here – we need to keep the momentum going. The more people who Rock the Shot, the safer our state will be for everyone.”

“Although Connecticut has been a national leader in vaccinations, we need to keep working to ensure that everyone in our community is protected from the severe illness, hospitalization and death caused by COVID-19,” Dr. Deidre Gifford, acting commissioner of the Connecticut Department of Public Health, said. “We have seen a decrease in vaccination rates, especially among younger adults, and our hope is that Rock the Shot will give people an added incentive to get vaccinated to protect themselves and their loved ones against COVID-19.”

The list of concerts currently available through “Rock the Shot” include:

Xfinity Theatre – Hartford

  • 7/16 – Luke Bryan
  • 8/21 – Thomas Rhett
  • 9/3 – Lil Baby
  • 9/29 – Jonas Brothers
  • 10/8 – Florida Georgia Line

HHC Amphitheater – Bridgeport

  • 8/20 – Brothers Osborne
  • 9/8 – Trippie Redd
  • 9/29 – NF
  • 10/1 – Rod Wave

More concerts will be added to the “Rock the Shot” campaign as they are announced and tickets go on sale. The campaign may also expand to include additional venues across Connecticut, offering more opportunities for vaccinated residents to get rewarded for protecting their communities and see some of today’s hottest performers.

Connecticut residents who are 18 and older who have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine are eligible to enter the drawing. Employees of the Connecticut Department of Public Health, Office of the Governor, LiveNation, and any other entities involved in the organization and distribution of the “Rock the Shot” promotion are not eligible to participate.
