SNOW EMERGENCY in Norwalk Beginning Tonight

Mayor Harry Rilling has declared a SNOW EMERGENCY for Norwalk effective 8:00 PM on March 6, 2018

We will be updating the City’s website, www.norwalkct.org throughout the storm and have posted information about the snow emergency and preparedness tips as well. The Fire Department is asking residents to ‘adopt a hydrant’. If possible, please clear hydrants closest to your property to help firefighters get quick access during fires. In order to allow Public Works to plow, move vehicles off the street. Vehicles parked on streets marked as snow emergency routes may be ticketed and towed. Residents can park at no cost at the Maritime and Yankee Doodle garages while the snow emergency / codered is in effect. For your own safety, limit travel during this storm and make sure vehicles are free of snow and ice before driving. There is no parking in the open parking lots between 2 AM and 6 AM to allow for snowplowing services. Thank you for your cooperation and patience during this winter storm. In accordance with Norwalk City code, Chapter 99, the snow emergency will go into effect at 8:00 PM, Tuesday, March 6, 2018. Please remove vehicles from streets.
