Adult Programs

Open Mah Jongg Play – Tuesdays at 11:00 am. The Mah Jongg group will meet every Tuesday. Advanced beginners and experienced players welcome for casual, non-competitive play. No instruction is provided and we recommend that you bring your own National Mah Jongg League card.

The Artist’s Way Monthly Meetup – Wednesday, February 1, 7:00 pm. Whether you create art to live or simply wish to live more creatively, find your motivation while we explore The Artist's Way by Julia Cameron. We'll start each meeting with a check-in, where members will have the opportunity to share their experiences with morning pages, artist dates, etc. and continue the discussion with topics and tasks covered in The Artist's Way. Free-Range Librarians @ Palisades Community Center - Saturday, February 4, 9:00 am - 1:00 pm. Enjoy one-stop shopping at the Palisades Indoor Farmers' Market. Stop by the Library's table to sign up for programs, check out a cookbook, and find out more about the Palisades Free Library Cookbook Club; all while you pick up some good eats from local vendors.

Little Known Films: Après Vous – Saturday, February 4, 5:00 pm (rescheduled from January). A special after hours showing, with light appetizers, of the film featured in the December 2016 issue of 10964: The Palisades Newsletter. Joining us to introduce the film will be film director (“Charlie Hoboken”, “Undertow”), Palisades resident, and writer of the newsletter's "Little Known Films" column, Tom Mazziotti.

Cookbook Club – Monday, February 13, 7:00 pm. Do you love browsing through cookbooks and trying new recipes? Do you enjoy sampling and sharing new dishes? Then the new Palisades Free Library Cookbook Club is for you! Enjoy wine selected by the experts at The Grape D’Vine with your meal. Children’s Programs

Herb'n'Spice and All Children Nice - Thursday, February 2, 4:30 pm. An interactive S.T.E.A.M.-oriented investigation of some not so common herb/spices and their varied, sometimes strange uses. This program will be presented by the Cornell University Cooperative Extension. K - Grade 4.

Alpha Computer Club - Tuesday, February 7, 7:00 pm. Build a basic website, learn how to insert images, videos and text and change the styling and text on your site. Open to SOCSD students only; Grades 4-6.

Valentine's Day Gathering - Wednesday, February 8, 4:30 pm. Listen to stories, make valentines, andplay heart bingo with conversation hearts. Program includes poems, stories, games and crafts. Ages 5 and up.

Cambodian Boat Children - Tuesday, February 28, 4:30 pm. This program will give young American students insights into how children who live in a floating village on Lake Tenle Sap, Cambodia, go about their daily lives, especially how they go to school. Sample a Cambodian snack and make a long boat of your own. Grades 1-4.
