Adult Programs

Adult Summer Reading – Friday, July 1 – Wednesday, August 31. This summer, adults can join in the fun by participating in the Palisades Library Adult Summer Reading Book Bingo Challenge. Visit the Library’s Adult Programs web page for more information.

Monthly Meet-up of the Artist’s Way Workshop – Wednesday, July 6, 7:00pm. Whether you create art to live or simply wish to live more creatively, find your motivation while we explore The Artist's Way by Julia Cameron. We'll start each meeting with a check-in, where members will have the opportunity to share their experiences with morning pages, artist dates, synchronicity, etc. and continue the discussion with topics and tasks covered in The Artist's Way. Bring your artwork, writing, music, etc. to share with the group (not required, but strongly encouraged). A continuation of The Artist's Way Workshop. Newcomers welcome! Open Mah Jongg Play – Tuesdays at 11:00 am. The Mah Jongg group will meet every Tuesday. Advanced beginners and experienced players welcome for casual, non-competitive play. No instruction is provided and we recommend that you bring your own National Mah Jongg League card.

Teen Programs

Teen Summer Reading - The Teen Summer Reading Program is going on now. Registration is not required. Read and review books and attend programs to earns points. Redeem points for prizes at the end of summer, including gift cards, free copies of books, and other library swag. The teen with the most points at the end of the summer gets a special prize! Pick up a Teen Summer Reading "Bingo" board at the Library today!

Make Beaded Hoop Earrings! – Monday, July 11, 5:30 pm - Calling all tweens (Grades 4-8)! Come and make a pair of funky, fun, and colorful beaded hoop earrings with Amy Kanarek of Amy Kanarek Designs. You can choose your colors, and create your own style! $5 materials fee due upon arrival (those who have metal sensitivities may choose to pay a $10 materials fee in order to use either sterling silver or 14K Gold-filled earwires).

Teen Yoga – Monday, July 25, 6:00 pm – Come join us for a night of relaxation with instructor Mary Callan! Grades 7-12.

Children’s Programs

Children’s Summer Reading - Throughout the summer, the Palisades Library will host a series of programs for readers of all ages. Come in and sign up, and receive your reading log and accu-cut to display in our children’s room.

Story Time: Ages 4-5 – Tuesdays, July 12, 19 & 26 at 10:45 am. Join us every Tuesday for stories and a simple craft.

Toddler Story Time: Ages 3-4 - Tuesdays, July 12 & 26, 10:00 am. Join us for stories and music.

Library Sports Fun - Wednesday, July 6, 5:00 pm. Award winning books and fun sport games at the library.   Program includes stories and games making. Children ages 5 and up.

Kid’s Yoga: Ages 3-5 - Wednesday, July 13, 4:30 pm. Yoga conducted by Mary Callan, a registered yoga teacher. Space is limited.

Kid’s Yoga: Ages 6-9 - Thursday, July 14, 4:30 pm. Yoga conducted by Mary Callan, a registered yoga teacher. Space is limited.

Story Time with Megan & Maizie – Monday, July 18, 6:00 pm. Bring your favorite stuffed animal and listen to summertime stories with Megan and Maizie in the children's room. Children in grades K-3.

What’s on the Menu? – Tuesday, July 19, 4:30 pm. Everything eats something. Explore how and what animals eat with Jan Berlin of the Everything Animals Resource & Activity Center. Children ages 5 and up. 5 year-olds must be accompanied by a caregiver.

Spinning Inward I – Tuesday, July 26, 5:00 pm. Practice fun and easy ways to slow down and mentally revisit your favorite vacation or activities. Children in grades 1-4.

Puppet Party – Wednesday, July 27, 5:00 pm. Get your show on! Create puppet characters and a small theater for a show. Bring a show box or cereal box with you. Children ages 5 and up.
