The Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art (HVCCA) is pleased to announce that Phillips is auctioning art sold for the benefit of HVCCA during their main contemporary art auction on September 16, 2014.
Major art works are on sale by Julie Mehretu, Jonas Burgert, Carole Feuerman, Alex Katz, and more. This is Carole Lee Feuerman's most important work ever at auction. Also offered are important recent works by several artists never before at auction and whose work is in great demand including: Jeffrey Gibson, Emil Alzamora, John Newsom and Antonio Santin.
Some of the proceeds of this auction will help support Peekskill Project, a biennial citywide arts festival. Each of the Peekskill Projects has featured over 120 emerging national and international artists. The festival has gained major acclaim and has served as a model for other cities in highlighting artists working in experimental and non- commercial disciplines with work situated in businesses, public spaces as well as empty buildings.
HVCCA opened to the public in March 2004. The Center has built a reputation for hosting contemporary art exhibitions of a consistently high quality. Focusing on the works of emerging artists, HVCCA proudly boasts a remarkable 10 year history: over 130 artists had their first exposure in the US at HVCCA and have then gone on to representation by major galleries and to international acclaim.
Please join us on September 16th, at the Phillips Auction at 450 Park Avenue, New York.
