Grutzner Named Pleasantville Police Chief

Erik Grutzner has been named Pleasantville’s police chief, replacing Chief Richard Love who retired Nov. 2.

Love had been out on leave for several months following a non-job-related injury, according to the Examiner News.

Grutzner, a Putnam County resident, joined the Pleasantville Police Department in 1994. He was promoted to sergeant in 2006, to lieutenant in 2012, and to acting chief when Love went out on leave, the Examiner reported. The department has 21 members.
