40,000 pounds of produce donated by the Pleasantville Community Garen

Pleasantville Community Garden is thrilled to announce we reached an important milestone on Saturday, Sept. 9, when our total produce donations reached over 40,000 pounds! Started a little over 3 years ago in June 2014 on the grounds of St. John’s Episcopal Church, Pleasantville Community Garden (PCG) is a non-profit group dedicated to growing and collecting fresh produce for donating to the hungry in Westchester County.

PCG’s produce donations, since its inauguration, reached the total of 40,288 pounds on Sept. 9 with the harvests from two of its gardens and the generous donation of more than 300 pounds of fruits and vegetables from farmers at the Pleasantville Farmers Market. All produce collected by PCG is donated to local organizations for distribution to those in need in Westchester. PCG is 100% volunteer managed, with more than 200 volunteers of all ages each year who tend the gardens, collect produce donations and deliver the produce to the donation sites.

We would like to thank all of our local volunteers and supporters who have contributed to achieving this amazing donation milestone! Thank you!
