
“Bee” inspired to learn about the fascinating world of honey bees and beekeeping during a workshop series offered at Hilltop Hanover Farm in Yorktown Heights. The workshop will introduce you to the basic terms used in beekeeping, bee biology, and a brief history of beekeeping, along with learning about the members of the colony and their function, as well as the various types of hives and equipment required. In addition, guidance will be provided as to how to purchase bees and how to start your own hive. Dates for the series are as follows: Sept. 16: Harvesting your Honey Nov. 11: Products of the Hive for Health and Home Classes run from 10 a.m. to noon.
