In her job area through the first citizenship period, our 7th grade honoree was well known for her positive qualities. “A really quiet worker, yet she had this intensity and enthusiasm when she worked that made her excellent. She always completed her tasks well and always asked for more. She was polite and considerate to me and all of her peers.” My takeaway: This is a pattern of kindness and seriousness about getting the job done, in the context of a randomized group of students, in a place and time of day where there is basically not direct adult supervision. This is extraordinary, but based upon first citizenship job recs, what’s great is that it’s not isolated. To everyone that does the right thing in this circumstance, Thank You, people notice, keep it up!
Continuing beyond this self-help mentality, her teachers describe her as: “a gentle, positive presence… respectful, focused, and a kind person”; “always prepared for class, always ready to participate, a JOY to have in my class”; “Tries hard, always super attentive, supportive of others”; “Hard working, does everything asked of her, gives 100% on all her work, and gets along with everyone.” “Displays good citizenship through her honesty, kindness, and the way she takes responsibility for her work and actions towards others.”
As you sit and listen, I hope you’re thinking 2 things:
- I hope you’re thinking, “Hey, I do some of that stuff too!” Great! You’re right! Keep it up, people notice!
- Second, I hope you’re thinking, “I want to go to school with people like that!” Me too! And we do! You’re probably a person that does a lot of these things, too! What a great place this is when people are nice, and respectful, and responsible. People notice, teachers notice, friends and peers notice when you act this way. Keep it up!
