American Marketing Association – Fairfield County Celebrates Connecticut Millennial Entrepreneurs on Thursday, June 18 at the Bridgeport Trade & Technology Center
Inspiration, Challenges and Strategies from Local Start-Ups
New businesses are launched every day. Today’s start-up might just be tomorrow’s next big success story. On Thursday, June 18th join us for a unique evening of food, fun and insights featuring two local Connecticut entrepreneurs, Sustainable Indulgence and differ3nt. They’ll be sharing their inspiration, challenges, opportunities and the marketing strategies that have helped drive their success.
“Do something local, even if it sounds crazy!”, says Jason Maloney, co-founder of diffr3nt. Unique, handcrafted smartphone and digital device cases are the specialty of diffr3nt, a startup based in Fairfield and founded by Jason Maloney and Mark Donne, graduates of Fairfield University.
Redefining what it means to indulge by creating exceptionally wholesome and delicious handcrafted treats, is just what Remy Feldman and her family did in their business, Sustainable Indulgence located in Bridgeport. They use premium natural ingredients to provide more than just the average processed snack. The Feldmans believe that you don’t have to compromise your health or the environment. Their snacks are wholesome, natural and delicious!
“Meet the Entrepreneurs” will be held at the Bridgeport Trade & Technology Center, 280 Barnum Avenue, in Bridgeport from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. Please register in advance and join the incredibly broad network of talented marketing people in Connecticut! The event is open to the entire community. Additional information and registration details are at: http://bit.ly/AMAentrepreneurs
Refreshments will be served. Attendees will even get “hands on” experience in the brand new commercial kitchen where Sustainable Indulgence foods – made with all-natural ingredients – are prepared!
Sustainable Indulgence
Sustainable Indulgence was started a little over two years ago by the Feldman family. Mark Feldman was the long-time executive chef at Mrs. Green’s Natural Market. Along with his daughter, Remy, they recognized the opportunity to create wholesome and delicious hand-crafted treats using all-natural ingredients. Sustainable Indulgence is a true family business with Patti Manzone Feldman providing marketing and design support, while daughter Isabel helps with sampling events and son Henry pitches in on weekends. The Feldmans will present how their branding and marketing efforts have driven the company's success. Attendees will have the chance to prepare and taste the great products produced by Sustainable Indulgence!
Differ3nt
differ3nt makes unique fabric iPhone cases, all of which are “Hand-crafted in Connecticut.” The organization began as a Kickstarter-funded company. Its products are now marketed entirely online and have been recognized by Life Hacker as “one of the five best iPhone cases.” Co-founder Jason Maloney and Dan Leitao will present the differ3nt story, discussing how it has marketed the brand to-date and plans going forward.
