This is an important election for Redding. We need Board of Finance leadership who possess deep financial budgetary and long-term planning skills. For these reasons I support Karen Gifford for election to the BoF on Tuesday, November 2nd.
Karen Gifford is a highly intelligent and knowledgeable person who has amassed during her four decade career in finance and banking the necessary skills our town needs, most notably balanced fiscal management and financial markets knowledge.
Having spent my career in global finance, I recognize in Karen the skills required to effectively assess the priorities facing the BoF, especially decisions to optimize the best use of the federal American Recovery Plan Act funds available to Redding, and to meet the challenges of the successful foreclosure of the Georgetown Wire Mill property.
More generally, Karen possesses the ability to work in a bi-partisan manner to take the necessary actions to ensure that our town maintains its fiscal strength. I have full confidence that she will effectively bring to the BoF team the acuity and leadership to help facilitate the BoF’s responsibilities including financial planning, town debt financing and investment policy decisions, as well as credit rating negotiations and auditor interactions.
