Redding Police update on motorcycle crash on Cross Highway

Over the weekend, Redding Police reported that on July 15, 2023 at approximately 2:15 pm the Department received a 911 call reporting a motor vehicle crash involving a motorcycle on Cross Highway. The police, fire and ambulance were all immediately dispatched to the scene.
 
This morning, Monday, July 17, 2023, police say that the operator of the motor vehicle, a 46-year male from Redding succumbed to his injuries.
 
"The members of the Redding Police Department would to extend our thoughts and prays to his family. There is no additional information as to the crash investigation at this time."

On July 15, 2023 at approximately 2:15 pm The Redding Police Department received a 911 call reporting a motor vehicle crash involving a motorcycle on Cross Highway. The police, fire and ambulance were all immediately dispatched to the scene. Once on scene it was determined that the motorcycle was the only vehicle involved in the crash, the sole operator sustained serious life-threatening injuries and was transported to Danbury Hospital by the Redding Ridge Ambulance. The initial investigation showed the motorcycle was traveling westbound on Cross Highway and lost control while rounding a curve. At this time The Redding Police Departments Major Crash Investigation Team is conduction the investigation. We have no additional information to be released at this time.
